![]() ![]() Gilbert is no McCartney, Lennon, Goldsboro or anyone else for that matter, he is simply Gilbert and he was and remains unique, like him or not. I also love, "Clair", "Out Of The Question", "A Minute Of Your Time" and "Happiness Is You & Me" and so many others. Well it's only an idea" and on and on.,BRILLIANT! Put in a part that wouldn't otherwise appear, Take out a part that you think should be here, I like it a lot, it's just not my cup of tea, I think it's great, but it could be better. "I Love It But", (from the album, "Off Centre"), a great little number that has Gilbert playing with words that I'm sure he often heard, when submitting a new song to his label. My favorite post "Alone Again" songs by Gilbert are: I also have the promo 45 of it too, along with many of Gilbert's follow-up's. ![]() It was one of the very first 45's that I ever bought and I still have that original MAM single today. I was around 12 years old when "Alone Again" was brand new and as Steve Hoffman put it, "was cutting a knife through butter on the radio" and I stopped dead in my boots to suck in that whole single. "Honey" (my all-time least favorite song that Bobby ever cut), has nothing on Gilbert's emotionally charged, "Alone Again Naturally". Interesting that being a huge fan of Gilbert's and a so-so fan of Bobby Goldsboro's, that I've NEVER in a zillion years ever thought of any connection sound wise or song wise, between the two artists. ![]()
